Plagiarism Policy
The Editorial Team of the Journal of Advances in Multidisciplinary Education and Learning (AMEL) recognizes that plagiarism is an unacceptable academic misconduct. Therefore, the journal establishes the following policy outlining specific actions (sanctions) when plagiarism is identified in a manuscript submitted for publication.
Definition
Plagiarism refers to the act, whether intentional or unintentional, of obtaining or attempting to obtain credit or recognition for scholarly work by copying part or all of another person’s work and/or scientific work, and presenting it as one’s own without providing proper and adequate citation.
General Policy
-
All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review for publication elsewhere.
-
Any material verbatim from other sources must be clearly identified and properly cited to distinguish it from the original text.
-
Manuscripts submitted to AMEL will be checked for plagiarism using Turnitin (www.turnitin.com) detection software.
-
The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the editorial board, will review cases of plagiarism and determine appropriate actions based on the level of plagiarism detected.
Levels of Plagiarism and Actions
-
Minor Plagiarism
-
Copying a few short sentences or phrases from another article without proper citation.
-
Action: The author(s) will receive a warning and be asked to revise the manuscript by properly citing the sources.
-
-
Major Plagiarism
-
Copying a significant portion of another article without proper attribution or citation.
-
Action: The submitted manuscript will be rejected and the author(s) may be sanctioned from publishing in AMEL in the future.
-
-
Duplicate Submission or Redundant Publication
-
If an author submits a manuscript simultaneously to AMEL and another journal, or if substantial overlap with previously published work is discovered during review or after publication.
-
Action: The manuscript will be rejected, and the author(s) may be blacklisted from further publication in AMEL.
-
-
Other Forms of Misconduct
-
If plagiarism or unethical practices are identified outside the above categories, the AMEL editorial team reserves the right to impose sanctions deemed appropriate in accordance with editorial policy.
-
Author’s Responsibility
All authors are collectively responsible for the content of the manuscripts they submit. If a manuscript is found to involve plagiarism, all listed authors will be subject to the same actions and sanctions.
